OLTD projects - Use 3 ½" x 3 ½" shim plates at each bolt/stud on CW J brackets rather than 1 continuous shim. Shop will stock various thicknesses and additional material can be ordered quickly from BHJ if needed.

Specifications call for the glass entry doors to be Heat Soaked. Oldcastle was submitted but they can't Heat Soak. Switching the doors to come from Glassfab since they can Heat Soak.
Gates on the roof are made of steel and specified to be hot dipped galvanized. Not sure what Cristian did on the Admin building but it looks like he made them out of steel and had them finished at Lavoy in Dove Gray. I'm worried about the long term rust issues that may cause (especially because the inside of the tubes would be open and unfinished). So, I had Steve at General Metals make the gates just like last time but had him take it to the Galvanizer. Cost about $485 to do it but that seemed cheap and only took about a week and a half. The contractor is going to paint the gate when they paint the rest of the steel so we don't have to paint anything.
The North canopy is a standing seam roof. Katia Griggs is amazing and will help you through what to buy. I learned a few things on this one:
The brake shapes are actually pretty cheap if you have Morin make them. Much cheaper than getting flat stock, driving it somewhere, having them make them and bringing them back.
To seam the roof, you rent a seamer. I rented mine from qualityroofseamers.com. Comes in a big heavy box.
The architectural drawings show one size. The structurals originally had no dimensions but the design team updated the steel in a later drawing (after we did our shops) and the steel is now 12 inches larger in all directions. We worked out a detail and worked with the contractor to agree to a seam in the roofing. We are currently doing the install. I will post a picture when it is complete.

When ordering extra terra cotta make sure the extra pieces are the largest size on the project not the typical sizes. We we have breakage on the larger sized tiles we may not have replacements.
Intertek/ATI onsite testing - use Gino Vitali's crew moving forward for all water testing. You can either contact him directly to schedule work (510)207-2608 (gino.vatali@intertek.com) or when scheduling through the office tell Shannon you want Gino to do the testing, so rather than taking the next available date take the next available date Gino has.
